NetVanta 1224R and 1224STR The NetVanta 1000 Series is a family of integrated switch - router platforms and standalone managed Fast Ethernet switches. This series features four unique all-in-one network access platforms that combine LAN/WAN functionality into a single 1U chassis: the NetVanta 1224R switch - router, the NetVanta 1224STR switch - router with Gigabit uplink, the NetVanta 1224R PoE Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch - router, and the NetVanta 1224STR PoE switch - router with dual Gigabit uplinks. Each platform provides everything needed for branch office connectivity, combining the functionality of five devices for the price of one. These products combine a 24-port Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switch with a full-featured IP router, modular WAN interface, stateful inspection firewall, and optional VPN capability.
